Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to upgrade a series of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling motion of ships between the sea and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A sequence of A-range actuators had reached the end of their operational life after long service in a challenging surroundings. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators were chosen. These needed to be specially tailored by Rotork to overcome issues around confined areas and difficult entry.
เกจวัดแรงดันไนโตรเจนราคา and IS gearboxes were mechanically tailored in order that each actuator and gearbox could be manually operated with out entering the confined area. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and through drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the necessity for confined house access.
Actuators throughout the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced dual stacked show with configurable information logger performance, and an absolute position sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
