Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

ไดอะแฟรม ซีล has been working with BAE Systems to improve a sequence of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
เกจวัดแรงดัน of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after lengthy service in a difficult surroundings. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators had been chosen. These needed to be specially tailored by Rotork to overcome issues round confined areas and difficult access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes had been mechanically adapted in order that each actuator and gearbox could presumably be manually operated without entering the confined area. Rotork designed particular hand auto levers and through drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the need for confined house entry.
Actuators throughout the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a complicated twin stacked show with configurable data logger functionality, and an absolute position sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
